On a sultry August 5th morning Heublein Tower was visited by 26 young people attending a camp called, Grab The Torch. David Aldrich, founder and CEO, a dynamic leader and innovator accompanied them on their climb to the top of the mountain and has dedicated the camp to Paul Newman and The Hole in The Wall Gang. This week long experience highlights leadership, ethics, authenticity and philanthropy. While young men are part of the group, GTT is comprised mostly of girls, ages 16-17.
Dave emphasizes the value in giving back and making a "difference." He urges that they take compassion and turn it into passion! About issues large or small - in their own communities.
The campers toured the Tower and Kathryn Hoidge and Jay Willerup, co-presidents of The Friends of Heublein Tower spoke about our not-for-profit endeavors and how we are following the example of the Heublein family in their philanthropic approach in their lives. They gave generously of their time and talents - and money - to Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT.
The Friends of Heublien Tower were inspired by these bright and enthusiastic young men and women. They can - and will - make a difference in their communities and, possibly around the world.
